First aid is not spectator knowledge; it is a skill that requires practice.
In April 2025, I joined my first AED and first-aid training, where I learned CPR, AED use, and basic emergency response. Before this, I understood first aid mainly through football, sports injuries, and campus safety. The hands-on session helped me realize that emergency response is not only about knowing what to do; it requires repeated practice of movement, sequence, and judgment.
During the training, I practiced chest compressions, rescue breathing, AED pad placement, and following device prompts. I also observed how instructors corrected details such as compression position, depth, rhythm, and coordination with AED operation. This became an important step from personal interest to real action, and later supported my online public session, learning materials, and campus first-aid awareness efforts.
